So, a few thoughts on the Tokyo 2021 Olympics. A Big Yawn; the event which I figured would be cancelled due to the “pandemic” which seems to be dragged out for political reasons, but only in certain circumstances, the rules of which the policy is being driven looking murky at best.
For us here in America, the land of the free and the home of the brave, am I the only one who is loath to watch the whimpering and the whining of what was once a determined, disciplined cohort of USA teams dedicated to sport of all varieties and competitive platforms, having honed their skills over years and years of precise practice and sacrifice for the perfection of their craft?????
Am I the only one who will not look on as whole teams as well as individual formerly brave souls vying for medals under the flag of the United States of America, turn their very backs on that flag and deny their allegiance to the very country for which they compete?
It is obvious, of course, the blasphemy that we now witness on the world stage. I hear snippets of news here and there on who won certain events; or how so few folks were watching the world over, as the opening ceremony proceeded, when??? last weekend I believe. Or, hearing of the sniveling little spoiled brat on our women’s soccer team who had to accept the lowly silver medal for their poor performance. I would say it was brought on by attitude. Their just desserts.
No, looking at the paltry viewer numbers and ratings, I guess I am not alone. Always before now, the summer and winter Olympics were a tradition. This year we will be boycotting, not for lack of interest, but for pure disdain at the self centered former champion athletes who would rather spit on their freedoms and opportunities afforded them instead of performing proudly in the only truly free country in the world.
Sadly we see yet another eroded institution in our once great nation destroyed by the Marxist socialist “left” which annihilates all that it touches. Sports now falls and kneels to that great disgrace.
